Thanks Sam Pratt for posting this to Facebook/ColumbiaCounty group page...exciting news...I think the interest and excitement for projects like this moving forward is due in no small part to your work in sparking dialogue and advocacy for a better life, opportunities, development for Hudson. I think the jobs and growth related to an Arts center and the related hospitality/travel tourism will be a lot better than a cement factory.

The beauty of Hudson has a great deal to do with the Architecture, the warehouses and the human scale. Whatever happens one would hope will not disturbe the integrity of the town. We see manynout of scale unattractive buildings around, seemingly built without though. That said, taking the beauty of the tennis building and creating within the integrity of the building one can imagine some extrodinary design incorporated. I am sur ethe people will have a say, as Hudson is a town with a great sense of community. Hope they keep in vein with the example of Helsinki and its spectacular transformation.

Great news indeed! Bard College, just south of Hudson, already has stunning buildings by Frank Gehry and Rafael Vinoly. It would appear that northern Dutchess is well on its way toward reaching an exciting critical mass of exciting architecture…...
