Regarding the cats, that is terrible if a creature was harmed because of personal disputes. Sounds like you have some problem tenants.

Police are investigating an incident where gasoline was reportedly dumped onto a Ghent woman's cat on Meadowgreens Golf Course property." First this article is only in print form and not online?? The campground has a monthly rate in Oct 2012 when I informed the campers the camp would be closing for the season they informed me they had no where to go and are staying. Columbia County Social Services knows campsites are being occupied by people receiving SS Benefits year round . The problems 1. They are not paying Rent ( one site 7 months be hide in rent) 2. Camp Sites fighting each other ( The poor cat being a innocent victim). 3 They are illegally camping. 4. The people have no where to go (homeless).

Hello Sam, as per the Columbia County Airport Committee Meeting Minutes from March 24, 2014: "D.Robinson explained that right now the easements start at a place 20 feet from the ground, when they should be on the ground, and they are not covering anything in the transitional zone. He said that the new easements will be current to the FAA standards compared to where they were in the 1960's." , say goodbye to all the trees on the course. (Old easements trees, New easements cut trees) Please pass this info on, Thanks Carm

Carmen, thanks for posting. While I think the Board voted correctly, I also think they should have let you speak.

That said: Easements which permit tree-cutting on Meadowgreens were there when CN Productions purchased the property.

Moreover, those easements remain under all proposed plans. The County could have exercised its rights to trim or take down trees at any time since 1966.

The very limited additional easements sought under the Porrreca Plan do not have to be a problem for either the golf course, or your future development plans. If you work with the Committee and neighbors to enact it in a thoughtful way, this can indeed be a win for all.

The following is the information I was not allow to say before the Board of Supervisors As per Art Bassin Airport Chairman in a email to Columbia County Supervisors: "The Porreca Plan Leaves the Golf Course and Meadowgreens Undisturbed and Costs less." 1. High Probability of Golf Course Closure. Can not operate a Golf Course without Trees (Porreca Plan has budget of $450,00 for obstruction clearing) 2. Very High Probability that the County will now need to vote for Eminent Domain to complete this plan. This will result in 7 to 8 year delay in turning MG into a new World Class Destination Resort ( google jmjdevelopment.net ) JMJ and CN Management have a Master Development Plan in place(2009) to complete this vision 4. This Nero plan saves Columbia County $300,000 and avoids over $1,800,000 being spent on unnecessary construction of additional runway. In conclusion Plan W will provide closure for the FAA safety zone within 1 Year and will provide a Golf Facility and the start of a World Class Luxury Resort . Why call it plan W? Because the result is a win for Columbia Residents, a win for the FAA and a win for Richmor and CN Management .
